Relocation

Well we have finally moved up to North Yorkshire, found and bought our new place and settled in (put like that it sounds simple … if only ) so hopefully now we can get on with the rest of our lives ! a minor part of which will be trying to get this site back up and running.

Toy Fairs

Due to all the upheaval over the last year or so the toy fairs we attended took a back seat and for the forseable future we will continue to give them a miss. What and how exactly we will replace them remains to be seen.

Sad to see that the Elsecar Toy Fairs are no more .. it would seem the local authority priced the hiring of the venue at an unrealistic level .. someone should perhaps tell the local authority that its better to have money coming in when a building is empty  than no money at all, but isn’t that typical of our friends in local authorities who have no idea of how the real world operates ! After all its easy for them to write of the loss, its just one of many they make and its only money, then again its not theirs … sadly its ours !

Valuations

As I have already mentioned I am looking to get this site up and running again and would appreciate your input including your comments and messages but one thing I must stress is that I will NO longer be offering to give an idea as to value of your items. Sorry but its just not possible to give an accurate idea as to the value of an item without actually seeing that item in order to evaluate its condition – as you will appreciate everyones idea of ‘good’ or ‘excellent’ condition etc is different. That together with the condition of the box – if any – that contains the item matters enormously. Add in other factors including the current economic climate means that even prices achieved last year are no longer relevant today.

However I am happy to try and give you any other information I have available on any particular item if I can.

Internet Selling Sites

If like me you are fed up with Ebay and its ever increasing charges – the latest being their absolute cheek in charging sellers a percentage of the POSTAL COSTS ! …. How on earth is that supposed to be right and how can they justify charging a fee on top of Royal Mail’s charges, I wouldn’t mind but they don’t even lick the stamps !!

Anyhow before I clone into another Victor Meldrew I am trying out several new sites and will see how they perform.
